THE COLLEGE YEARS
If you don't know already, I graduated from a mighty fine institution Columbia College of Chicago with a Bachelor's of Music. Since then, God has been so amazingly faithful and allowed me to IMMEDIATELY get to the pavement with Life Music. If you would pray with me, I have two things up before God, that seem like they will go through. FIRST, I plan on going back to school to earn my Masters in Applied Biblical Studies! SECOND, I have already received the blessing from my alma mater in beginning a scholarship fund ($2k/year to start) for outstanding African American students with a background in church. All i need now is...the money! God will provide...I ain't worried!

GOD'S FAVOR
My new album, "LIFE MUSIC" OPENED #3 ON BILLBOARD! And ever since then, I thank God for the support everyone has given me and the album. I love you all so much. It also was #98 on the Billboard 200 and I pray that it is blessing all who have it. It's in select stores (Walmart, F.Y.E., etc.) its on iTunes, Amazon and all online retailers. Please go check it out! You won't regret it.

I pray that my music encourages you to live a better life by drawing near to God and TRULY seeking his face, BUT i know my life and ministry is not all about music. God has given us many different ways to minister to and motivate each other. As inspiring, bible-based, life-speaking things (e.g. music, quotes, articles, etc.) come my way, I will surely relay them to you!
By the way, PLEASE make sure you understand what angle and set of beliefs your favorite preachers, artists, friends, and writers are speaking from. I believe in God the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. I believe Jesus is THE way, the truth, and the life and in Him we are new creatures, run by God's love and all old things like past failures, mistakes, and flaws are passed away. What an amazing gift of love that was sent, lived, died, and resurrected for me. ANY questions...hit me up!
People have been asking me for the chords to my songs and I hope that they find this site ;-) because finally I have the time to sit down and do this (at least for the four most requested songs). I pray that God continues to grow you fellow musicians' gifts and that you continue to use it for something positive. Much love! DISCLAIMER: these are very often imperfect!
When I first REALLY internalized being Christian and the prospect of being "saved," I wanted to show everyone that I was bold about Jesus. I wore the Christian t-shirts, the crosses and you know all of us COGIC boys know how to suit up! I personally don't think it is wrong to wear your beliefs on your sleeves sometimes but what's waaaay more important is what is on the inside (i.e. God's spirit). If only we'd think to adorn our hearts like we adorn our bodies. Read what God says we should really be wearing due to the spirit that should be guiding us...
The people that gave me the hardest/strangest time in college were exactly the kind of people God was forming my music to minister to. The bible tells us to "love [our] enemies and pray for those who mistreat us." Don't go looking to be abused and hurt, but remember that some people just don't "get you" and don't "get it" and sometimes they are just jealous of what God is doing for and with you. Before you return the looks, the grudge, the attitude, and the words, just pray for them. Live with love and no weapon formed against you shall prosper.
