  3. DISCUSSION QUESTIONS

Do I think I have been effective and productive in my knowledge of Jesus Christ? Has this Faith, my Faith shown a major effect on my life and those around me?

Does my life confirm that I have been called to Christ?

    Can I do better? How?

  7. What can you commit to “moving over” for the sake of your relationship with God, your happiness, and your fulfillment this year?

As you make room for Him, what “room” are you expecting God to make for you? He promised, “seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.”

  8. “His divine power has given us everything we need for a godly life through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness. Through these he has given us his very great and precious promises, so that through them you may participate in the divine nature, having escaped the corruption in the world caused by evil desires. For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge; and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness; and to godliness, mutual affection; and to mutual affection, love. For if you possess these qualities in increasing measure, they will keep you from being ineffective and unproductive in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. But whoever does not have them is nearsighted and blind, forgetting that they have been cleansed from their past sins. Therefore, my brothers and sisters, make every effort to confirm your calling and election. For if you do these things, you will never stumble, and you will receive a rich welcome into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.” 2 Peter 1:3-11

  15. DISCUSSION QUESTIONS

Consider your life over the past five years. Can you recognize any feelings, sins, types of people, circumstances that seem to recur over and over again?

Notice how those recurrences tie into one another. For example, a cyclical feeling of loneliness led to attachment to a certain type of person, which led to sin or how comparing your life to others led to overspending or becoming dissatisfied with your significant other.

What can you do to stop the cycle early? For example, a more constructive way to deal with loneliness before an unhealthy attachment or unfollowing certain people or dismissing social media apps altogether.

  16. God gives us life. He blesses us with children, spouses, family to love take care of. He gives us gifts and talents, burdens and nuances that make room for us in this world. He arranges our lives in a manner that brings us material possessions, strong friendships, world impact, notoriety and social recognition. But with family, friends, gifts, money and fame come a challenge, a warning: keep all of those things, and the pursuit of those things, from hindering your relationship with God. Please don’t get too busy living, that you forget the One who gave us life. Let’s make sure we make room for God.
